A MESSAGE FROM ownit

At Ownit, our top priority is the safety and well-being of our clients and staff during Cyclone Alfred. In light of the storm, we’ve made the decision to temporarily close our office to ensure everyone’s safety.

However, rest assured that your property transactions are still our focus! We’re implementing our Business Continuity Plan to ensure that our team remains available to support you during these challenging times.

While the office will be closed, our experienced legal team will be working from home and are ready to assist you remotely via phone and email.

Please do not attend our office this week. Our team is here to help and will be available to answer your questions and support you as we navigate through this storm together.

Stay safe, and thank you for your understanding.

GST Withholding Law

Is it important to complete the GST Withholding Obligations section of the Contract?

Yes. Following the introduction of the Australian Taxation Office Withholding Laws it is extremely important for both Buyers and Sellers of property that this information is correctly completed in the Contract. Financial penalties may apply to both Buyers and Sellers where the withholding has failed to be done when required or where the amount withheld is incorrect. We recommend that prior to completing this section of the Contract that both Buyers and Sellers speak to their Accountant or Income Tax Professional to obtain advice.

We are here to help. Please contact our office should you require any assistance.
